PATROL DIVISION
| The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division, consists of ten deputies. Two of the deputies are shift commanders and carry the rank of Lieutenant. The Chief Deputy has command and control of the patrol deputies. The deputies patrol a 750 square mile area and also assist other agencies as needed. Their primary duties are to enforce all laws, investigate accidents on county roads, investigate burglaries and thefts, answer domestic related calls and serve and protect the public. |

The deputies are well equipped with lethal and less-than-lethal weapons. Two deputies are also certified snipers and possess the necessary equipment to serve in that capacity. Many of the deputies are certified in the use of a Taser and carry the Tasers while on routine patrol. We also have a deputy dedicated to civil process, one dedicated to court bailiff duties and one dedicated to teaching the D.A.R.E. program in all of the schools in Poinsett County. |
