Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man on Battering a Child 

On June 23, 2017, Jacob L. Vest, 31, of Harrisburg, AR was arrested for Felony Domestic Battery in the Second Degree on a Child and Felony Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree. A warrant was sought and received after our detectives and deputies determined Vest had beaten his 6 year old son. Vest was arrested without incident and transported to the Poinsett County Detention Center. 

Vest is currently being held in the Poinsett County Detention Center. Judge Ron Hunter issued a $50,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in Poinsett County Circuit Court on July 26, 2017 at 9:30 am. The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children, and the Department of Human Services are actively investigating this incident.
