Death Investigation – Deceased Male Found Off of White Road 

On May 9, 2018 at approximately 11:50 am, we received information from the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office requesting us to be on the lookout for Ricky Dale Woods. The information we received included the vehicle he was driving. 

On May 10, 2018 at approximately 12:50 pm, we received a call from a farmer who stated a van had been found on one of his field roads off of Shady Grove Lane in Poinsett County. The vehicle was identified as the van Woods was driving. A search of the immediate area was conducted by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office and Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office. We searched the area by using Craighead County’s drone and our ground equipment. We did not locate Woods on May 10th. 

On May 11, 2018 at approximately 3:47 pm, Ricky Dale Woods body, 52, of Bay was found off of White Road. His body is being sent to the Medical Examiner for an autopsy. At this time, we do not suspect foul play. However, we are currently investigating all leads pertaining to this case. Craighead County Sheriff’s Office and the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office have been coordinating together during this investigation.
