Delivery Warrant Served

On December 10th 2018, a Felony Warrant obtained by drug investigators of the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office and Trumann Police Department was served on James Smith, 43, of Harrisburg. The Warrant was served at Bolivar Cemetery on Massengill Road where Smith was arrested. Smith had been under investigation for approximately two months due to him illegally distributing Methamphetamine. After being arrested on the Warrant, Smith handed investigators a white plastic cylinder that contained three (3) separate plastic bags. Two (2) plastic corner baggies contained a white shard crystallized substance weighing approximately 7.8 grams and one baggie contained white oblong prescription pills. The illegal drugs are believed to be Methamphetamine Ice and Hydrocodones. During a search of Smith’s vehicle, a black automatic handgun in a bag and two (2) separate clear plastic baggies containing green leafy buds were hidden in a glove. Smith was transported to the Poinsett County Detention Center.

James Smith, 43, of Harrisburg is charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth) With Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule 1 or 2 not Meth or Cocaine With Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) With Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
