On December 10, 2018, a probation search was conducted by the Sheriff's Office and Trumann Police Department on 1212 1st Street in Trumann, AR. Upon arrival at the residence, deputies observed Joshua Kirkland standing on the front porch. A deputy approached Joshua Kirkland and notified him of the Probation search. The deputy searched him and recovered a used needle inside his right pocket. Joshua Kirkland was placed under arrest and deputies proceeded in to the residence to continue the search. Upon entry Rex Kirkland was observed asleep on the living room couch. Rex was awake but remained lying down. During the search, deputies instructed Rex to stand up and allow them to search the couch. As Rex Kirkland stood up, deputies observed him attempting to cover something in the blanket. When the blanket was removed, a used glass pipe containing what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine was recovered. Rex Kirkland was placed under arrest and the two individuals were transported to the Poinsett County Detention Center.
