How to Send Mail to an Inmate

The Poinsett County Detention Center has contracted with Smart Communications to provide MailGuard electronic mail services.

The changes are being made to streamline the operations of the Sheriff's Office, improve communications, and ensure the safety and well-being of inmates and staff.

MailGuard is a quick and efficient way for inmates to receive letters and photos electronically.

Effective July 1, 2024 inmate postal mail must be sent to the following address:

The inmates' name and booking /ID number must be clearly printed on the outside of the envelope or postcard to ensure the mail is posted to the current account.

All regular inmate postal mail (postcards, letters, greeting cards, etc.) will be scanned into the system and available to the inmates to view via the kiosks.

Inappropriate content will be rejected.

Friends and Family members are encouraged to subscribe to MailGuard Tracker - https://www.mailguardtracker.com/. Sign up for a free account and view delivery status, receive notifications if your mail is rejected, and download copies of the mail that has been received and processed.

Upon release, inmates can log into the public website at https://www.smartinmate.com and enter their inmate number and password to download their photos, messages, and postal mail for FREE!

 

Inmates can receive via postal mail, two softback books mailed to 1500 Justice Drive, Harrisburg, AR 72432. The package should be addressed to the inmate. 

How do I pick up/drop off an inmate's property?

Inmate's property/MONEY may be released ONLY under ALL of the following conditions:            

1. The inmate must have a "Property Release" request form, consenting to release their property to you. 2. You must have valid photo identification.

2. Property must be picked up between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, on Monday through Friday.

*ADC sentenced inmates are not able to release their clothes.

THE ONLY PROPERTY THAT IS ALLOWED TO BE DROPPED OFF

Medications, Bibles, Eyeglasses or Contacts  

Medications can only be dropped off at any time. 

Medications can only be picked up Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm AND must be picked up by the person prescribed the medication.        

Commissary Account

Money can be added to an inmate's account by clicking on this link csgpay.com or via a kiosk located in the front lobby of the Detention Center. You will need our facility ID number (24082) in addition to the inmate's ID number. Money can be placed on phone usage or commissary account which allows inmates to purchase their own phone time in dollar increments.
