The Chief Chaplain oversees religious volunteers of various denominations who provide spiritual encouragement and educational services to the inmates within the Poinsett County Jail.
The Office of the Chief Chaplain is responsible for providing a confidential environment for the employees of the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office and their immediate family members. At the request of an employee, births, hospitalizations and deaths are made known to the agency though the use of the Chaplain.
Rev. Jeff Weaver is a native of North East Arkansas. He has been married to Tricia Weaver for 23 years. They have one daughter, Kirby Weaver, who attends, Arkansas State University. His theological experience began as a Youth Minister at Paragould First United Methodist Church. He went to Course of study at Saint Paul school of Theology in Kansas City Missouri. He served as an Associate Pastor from 2006 until 2011 at Paragould First Church. Rev. Weaver was transferred to Trumann/Lepanto where he now serves as senior pastor. In 2016, he established Stepping Stone Sanctuary in Trumann, a homeless shelter, food pantry, and soup kitchen. He also serves on various other boards and committees in Poinsett County, and is very community minded.
